  1. Distractions behind the wheel – One of the worst things you can allow yourself to do is get distracted. That said you always need to focus on where you are going. If you take your eyes off the road for even a few seconds, an accident can be waiting for you. This means no cell phones, extensive messing around with others in your vehicle and more. You also want to avoid doing any grooming while driving. It is not uncommon to see some women applying makeup while on the road or guys using electric razors. Take extra time before you leave home to get yourself prepared and not when driving.
  2. Your vehicle matters too – Never lose sight of the importance of having a sound vehicle to drive. That said are you thinking of buying another vehicle soon? If so, do your best to get the right one at the right price. If considering a used car or truck, how will you learn details about what is has to offer? One option is to go online and do a VIN check. By having access to the vehicle I.D. number and searching for details about it, you are in a better position. In knowing a vehicle identification number, you may see accidents, recalls and more. Even with all that info in your current vehicle and one you look to buy, regular maintenance is crucial too. That said be sure to take your vehicle into your mechanic for regular needs. From oil changes to brake checks and more, don’t fall behind on keeping your car or truck tuned up.
  3. Avoid road rage incidents – Finally, how much of a temper would you say you have? If your temper gets the better of you at times, it could lead to trouble out on the roads. So, do your best to keep it under control when driving. Yes, other drivers will test you at times. That said steer clear of getting into a confrontation with them. It only takes one confrontation to change your life and the lives of others for the worst. If a driver does something that is dangerous, try and get their license plate info and report them.
